Conference cycles
The Ecole nationale des chartes organises four conference cycles:
- “Les Mardis de l’École des Chartes”: a recurring event dedicated to the latest news in “chartist” editorial work, providing a forum for encounters and debates between an author and a “moderator,” a research colleague sharing mutual interests. The goal, with the participation of the public, is to present theses, evoke their genesis and discuss their content, in order to propose an original and dynamic reading of them → see conferences
- “Quatrième de Couverture”: an editorial cycle presenting among other things, the most recent publications by the Ecole des Chartes and the CTHS
- “Les Grandes Voix”: the purpose of this conference cycle is to get professors in human and social sciences to speak in a conference that reconciles the work of the historian with a hermeneutic approach → see conferences
- “Itinéraires de Chartiste(s)”: a setting for encounters and debates with an archivist-palaeographer discussing their professional background → see conferences
The School also hosts conferences given by international guest professors → see conferences or by the School’s researchers-in-residence → see conferences
It also organises seminars and workshops with its Centre Jean-Mabillon research centre.
Up until June 2017, the School also organised the “Du Rare à l’Unique” conference cycle in order to study artefacts or immaterial productions that are perceived at first sight as exceptions… → see conferences
